● Section 01 / The Brief

The Brief.

To Create And Host A High-Energy Event For Nickelodeon In Lagos That Would Replicate The Successful NickFest South Africa And Entrench Nickelodeon's Footprint In Africa.

The two-day, eight-show event needed to attract thousands of kids and parents across Lagos for family fun packed with entertainment, activities, events and experiences for all ages.

● Section 02 / Approach

Objectives & Strategy.

Our objective was to transform the venue into a massive kiddies' wonderland with amazing toys, fun games and loads of shiny bright colours.

We needed to create an avenue for children to have fun with their favourite Nickelodeon characters and for adults to unleash their inner child — not forgetting the hugely popular slime challenge synonymous with Nickelodeon, plus performances by popular Nigerian musicians.

  • 01Transformed the venue into a fully themed Nickelodeon wonderland for an audience of thousands.
  • 02Manufactured 20,000 litres of trademark green slime on site using our own special recipe.
  • 03Delivered the Celebrity Slime Challenge as the festival's signature moment, raising awareness and funds for NGO children's projects in Nigeria.
  • 04Staged appearances by SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol, Dora the Explorer with Diego and Boots, Shimmer and Shine, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
  • 05Curated A-list Nigerian musical performances from Mayorkun, Falz, Simi and Adekunle Gold.

The Results.

    6,000 happy kids — a successful result in our book, but it didn't end there.

  • 02

    The Celebrity Slime Challenge became the talked-about highlight of the festival, raising both profile and funds for children's NGO support in Nigeria.

    Families were impressed with performances by Nickelodeon's superstar characters and surprise sets from some of Africa's most-loved entertainers.

    Kids and parents enjoyed two solid days of singing, dancing and pure laugh-out-loud wholesome fun.

● In Closing

NickFest Nigeria entrenched Nickelodeon's footprint in West Africa — and proved that a children's IP can be delivered at festival scale in a new market, faithfully and end-to-end, in just two days of shows.
